European Energy bags Romanian grid deals

European Energy has received grid connection approvals for around 500MW of solar and wind energy projects across Romania. The total development pipeline of European Energy Romania now exceeds 1.5 GW of solar and wind sites. European Energy is in the process of receiving grid connection approvals for the remaining projects. The head of European Energy’s Romania office Ioannis Kalapodas considers Romania a promising market. European Energy's executive vice president and head of project development Thorvald Spanggaard stated securing 500MW of grid connection approvals is a step towards achieving a leading position in the market. Romania's support scheme for Contracts for Difference will foster renewable energy development.
