EY: RES target will not be met despite record investment

Despite a $1.8 trillion increase in green energy investment, including $660 billion in renewables, meeting the COP28 target of tripling renewable energy capacity by 2030 remains a challenge. Gridlock and high capital costs are hindering progress. Energy storage systems like BESS are identified as a solution to grid congestion. EY's Renewable Energy Country Attractiveness Index highlights the potential of BESS in the global energy transition. Various countries are taking significant steps towards renewable energy expansion to attract investors.
