Mandatory evacuation orders were issued in Escondido, California, following a fire at a battery energy storage system facility. The fire incident occurred at the Northeast Operations Yard of San Diego Gas & Electric. Escondido Fire Department crews and San Diego County Hazmat teams responded to the fire involving lithium-ion batteries.
