DEME has installed the first monopile foundation at the site of Dominion Energy Inc’s Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind project. The project is on budget and on schedule for completion in late 2026. The remaining 1,000-tonne monopiles will be installed until November 1, 2025. Installation works will be resumed in May 2025 after a break to protect the North Atlantic right whales. The monopiles are fabricated by EEW SPC. The CVOW complex will have 176 turbines and will deliver electricity to up to 660,000 homes, making it the largest offshore wind project under construction in the US.
