German gas transmission system operators (TSOs) have filed a joint plan for the development of Germany's hydrogen core network by 2032. The application includes pipelines of 9,666 km, with a significant portion converted from existing natural gas pipelines. The expected investment costs amount to EUR 19.7 billion. The feed-in and feed-out capacities are around 100 GW and 87 GW, respectively. The BNetzA will conduct a two-week consultation until August 6 and approve the core network within two months. Once approved, construction will begin, with the first lines converted to hydrogen next year.
