Gemini, major solar-plus-storage project in Nevada, reaches commercial operations

The Gemini solar-plus-storage project in Nevada with a 380MW/1,400MWh BESS has reached commercial operations. Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners and Primergy Solar developed the project. The project was approved by the US Department of Interior in 2020 and secured nearly US$2 billion in financing for its construction in 2022. A 25-year PPA has been secured with NV Energy. Another project, Purple Sage Energy Center, with a 400MWac solar facility and a 1.6GWh BESS, is under development.
