The government of Gibraltar has initiated a tender for a solar panel installation at Gibraltar International Airport. The contract involves design, construction, operation, and maintenance of an array on the airport's south east apron. The power generated will be sold to the Gibraltar Electricity Authority through a power purchase agreement. The project is valued at GBP 5 million and will commence in December 2024 for a 20-year period. The deadline for applications is Sept. 20. Additionally, airports in Dublin and New York have announced similar on-site solar facilities.
