Global solar additions to hit 310 GW in 2024, says IEA

The International Energy Agency (IEA) has published a market update on the outlook for renewable energy in 2023 and 2024. Global renewable capacity additions are set to increase significantly in 2023, with solar power being the main source of growth. While many major markets like China, the EU, US, and India are expected to see higher annual additions, Brazil is projected to experience a decrease due to regulatory changes. The EU will see growth in residential and commercial solar PV systems. Competitive auctions and power purchase agreements will play a significant role in Europe's renewable capacity expansion.
