Google signs first solar PPAs in Japan for 60MW of capacity

Japan plans to meet 38% of its energy demand with renewables by 2030. Google has signed virtual power purchase agreements (PPAs) with two Japanese companies to build 60MW of new solar capacity in Japan. The agreements include construction of small-scale solar plants by Clean Energy Connect (CEC) and a utility-scale project in the Chiba prefecture by Shizen Energy and Bison Energy.
