'Governments, industry must unite over offshore wind'

The Energy Transitions Commission highlights the need for governments and the offshore wind industry to collaborate to restore market confidence, drive down costs, and accelerate the clean energy transition. With installations expanding and costs previously decreasing, recent challenges like inflation and supply chain issues have raised costs and caused a crisis in the industry, particularly in the UK and US. ETC proposes setting ambitious targets, enhancing auction designs, adjusting contracts to reduce risks, and improving production and grid connection processes to scale up offshore wind capacity effectively.
