GOW24: Offshore wind 'reaches 75GW milestone'

Global offshore wind capacity has increased significantly, with a 75GW milestone reached. The RenewableUK report projects a fourfold increase to 277GW by 2030. The UK leads with 96GW, followed by China, USA, Sweden, and Brazil. The UK also has a record high of 15.8GW in planning. RenewableUK's chief executive, Dan McGrail, emphasizes the need for increased government ambition and reform in the planning system for energy security and consumer benefit.
