GOW24: Offshore wind 'reaches 75GW milestone'

Global offshore wind capacity has increased by more than a fifth over the last year, reaching a 75GW milestone. The report forecasts that global operational offshore wind capacity could reach 277GW by the end of 2030. China has the largest pipeline with 227GW, followed by the UK at 96GW. The UK has 15.8GW of offshore wind capacity in the planning system. RenewableUK's chief executive, Dan McGrail, emphasized the need for maximizing offshore wind capacity. The report is published ahead of RenewableUK’s Global Offshore Wind 2024 conference and exhibition in Manchester.
