Grenergy expands BYD battery order to 3 GWh for Chilean project

Spanish renewables company Grenergy Renovables SA purchased additional batteries from China’s BYD Co Ltd for its Oasis de Atacama solar-plus-storage project in northern Chile, increasing the total ordered capacity to 3 GWh. The project includes multiple phases with the latest phase, Victor Jara, receiving BESS supply from BYD. The Oasis de Atacama project comprises clusters of solar farms and BESS totaling around 1 GW and 4.1 GWh.
