Energy Vault has launched the world’s first gravity energy storage system near Shanghai and plans to deploy it in supertall buildings globally. They collaborate with architecture firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) for designing high-rise buildings incorporating gravity energy storage technology. SOM has designed the world's tallest building, Burj Khalifa. Energy Vault's gravity storage solutions include EVu, EVc, EVy, and EV0. The facility in China is expected to be operational by the end of 2024.
