Highview Power is set to build a 300 MWh liquid air energy storage (LAES) plant in the United Kingdom with a syndicate of investors including Centrica, Rio Tinto, and Goldman Sachs. The plant in Carrington, Manchester, is expected to have an output power of 50 MW per hour for six hours and be operational in early 2026. The technology has potential to provide stability services to the National Grid and forms part of Centrica's plans to invest in green-focused projects.
