Hitachi, Aibel sign HVDC contract with RWE

RWE has signed framework agreements with Hitachi Energy and Aibel for the joint supply of three high-voltage direct current (HVDC) systems for offshore wind farms. Hitachi Energy will supply voltage source converter systems and Aibel will handle the EPC for offshore platforms. The agreements aim to facilitate efficient long-distance transmission of electricity from offshore wind farms to onshore connection points.
