Hy2gen and Ocean Connect Energy have signed a memorandum of understanding to investigate renewable hydrogen production from offshore wind. Hy2gen is collaborating with OCE to develop renewable fuel production using offshore wind energy. They aim to identify high-capacity offshore wind energy areas for project development. The partnership focuses on creating predictable and lasting demand for energy by leveraging renewable hydrogen production near offshore wind energy generation. Hy2gen is committed to producing 100% renewable fuels meeting industry sustainability standards. OCE's CEO, Kevin Banister, emphasized the potential of offshore wind in renewable hydrogen production. The research aligns with the clean hydrogen regulatory frameworks in the USA and EU, aiming to address renewable fuel classification requirements through offshore wind energy and power-to-X projects.
