IEA: The world will pay to shut down renewable capacity if it doesn’t invest in grids

By the end of this decade, the world may need to pay to shut down large renewable energy production capacities due to transmission network issues. The International Energy Agency (IEA) warns that without proper grid integration, 2,000 TWh of wind and solar power could be lost, leading to reduced CO2 emission reductions. The report emphasizes the challenges in transitioning to renewable sources and highlights the need for investments in energy networks and capacity integration.
