India's solar capacity additions surged by 78.9% between the first halves of 2023 and 2024, with 12.2GW new solar and 1.9GW wind capacity added in the first half of 2024. The utility-scale sector saw significant growth, encompassing 9.6GW new additions. The country aims to surpass clean energy targets with 500GW non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
