India installed 14.9 GW of solar capacity in the first half of 2024, with a total installed solar capacity reaching 87.2 GW. Solar energy accounts for 19.5% of India’s power capacity. Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Karnataka lead in large-scale solar installations. Challenges include component supply and grid connectivity issues.
