India imposes 10% customs duty on solar glass imports

Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2024-25 in the Lok Sabha. The budget supports the renewable energy sector, particularly solar, by exempting specified machinery used in manufacturing solar cells and modules from basic customs duty (BCD). Various exemptions and duties have been announced to boost the manufacturing of solar energy-related components.
