India experienced a 10% decline in rooftop solar installations in the first quarter of 2024 compared to Q4 2023, with a 24% decline year-on-year. The rooftop solar sector accounted for just 3.7% of India's total solar installations. The ALMM legislation in India was temporarily suspended to promote renewable energy technology growth, particularly solar. The government's support has significantly boosted the solar sector, but additional legislative support may be required to aid the rooftop solar growth.
