India proposes ALMM mandate for solar cells from April

India’s MNRE plans to issue the ALMM list for PV cells from April 1, 2026, to protect the domestic solar industry from imports. The ALMM policy aims to increase market share for domestic manufacturers and ensure compliance with efficiency criteria. Stakeholder feedback on the draft guidelines is sought before the October 6, 2024 deadline.
