India’s annual EV sales surpassed 1.2 million units in fiscal 2023

Annual EV sales in India reached 1.2 million in fiscal 2023, up 174% year on year. Electric two-wheelers accounted for over 60% of all units sold. Passenger electric three-wheelers held a share of 29%. Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Karnataka were the top states in sales. Cumulative EV sales in India reached 2.3 million by the end of fiscal 2023. Electric two-wheelers led the sales with 48.76% share, followed by electric three-wheelers in passenger vehicles at 43.33%.
