India aims to achieve an annual green hydrogen demand of 2.85 MMT by 2030, requiring a total investment of $57.6 billion. The transition includes sectors like fertilizer and exports, with specific targets for refineries, city gas distribution, ammonia-based fertilizers, and imports. To meet the demand, India needs to add 62 GW of renewable energy capacity, 29 GW of electrolyzer capacity, and 11 MMT per annum of ammonia infrastructure by 2030.
