India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) issued guidelines for a scheme to add 450,000 tonnes per year of green hydrogen production capacity. The guidelines concern 'Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Programme – Component II: Incentive Scheme for Green Hydrogen Production (under Mode 1)- Tranche-II'. Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) is the implementing agency for the tranche and is expected to issue a Request for Selection (RfS) shortly. The available capacity will be divided into two buckets, with Bucket II reserving 40,000 tonnes per year for biomass-based pathways and the remainder for technology-agnostic pathways. Bidding will be based on the least average incentive quoted by the bidder with bid ranges specified for each bucket.
