India’s NTPC launches 500MWh BESS tender, with competition bringing lower costs

NTPC, a state-owned power producer in India, has issued invitations for bids for grid-connected battery energy storage systems in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. The projects aim to add 150MW/300MWh and 100MW/200MWh of storage capacity respectively. Gensol, an engineering company, recently won a similar tender in Gujarat.
