IREC: US adds 15,564 solar jobs in 2023, up 5.9% YoY

The US solar industry has seen significant growth in 2023, with the addition of 15,564 new solar jobs. The total number of solar employees, including part-time workers, now reaches 364,544. Federal policies like the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) have played a key role in driving clean energy deployment and job creation. However, the residential solar market may experience a slowdown in job growth in 2024 due to factors such as high interest rates and California's shift to net energy metering 3.0.
