IRENA's SIDS Lighthouses Initiative (LHI) aims to support renewables deployment in Small Island Developing States (SIDS) with a $10 billion investment by 2030. The initiative focuses on financing mechanisms, technology transfer, and capacity-building to enhance energy transition and climate action in SIDS. Various speakers emphasized the importance of knowledge-sharing platforms and skill development programs tailored to SIDS' needs. The article highlights that SIDS, despite their minimal global emissions, are highly vulnerable to climate change. Collaborations under the LHI involve 41 SIDS and 48 development partners targeting 10 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
