Italy installed around 3.34 GW of new PV capacity in the first six months of 2024. The increase was driven by the connections of 17 plants with a power greater than 10 MW, located in various regions such as Lombardy, Lazio, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, Sicily, Sardinia, and Puglia. The utility-scale sector is growing, and the authorization process is lengthy. Strong growth was observed in connections of plants between 1 MW and 10 MW. Six regions accounted for a significant portion of the newly installed capacity.
