Kalpana Systems launches roll-to-roll spatial atomic layer deposition tools

Kalpana Systems, a Dutch thin film equipment company, has developed spatial atomic layer deposition (sALD) equipment for roll-to-roll manufacturing processes in the production of solar PV, organic light emitting diodes, batteries, and packaging. The company recently raised €3.5 million in funding to further develop the equipment for commercial production. The technology offers high-quality thin layers with atomic precision and is particularly beneficial for encapsulation in solar cells and as barrier layers in various market segments. Kalpana Systems is launching two models, K300 and K600, with different specifications tailored for solar/flexible electronics and battery/packaging industries respectively.
