Korean manufacturer starts production at new cable factory

South Korean manufacturer Taihan has completed the first step of its Submarine Cable Plant 1 to serve the offshore wind industry. The facility, located in Pyeongtaek, South Korea, focuses on producing inter array cables and will expand to include export cables and HVDC cables. Taihan has secured a significant contract to supply inter array cables for the Yeonggwang Nakwol offshore wind power project. The company is aiming to become a key player in the global submarine cable industry with the new capabilities and expansion plans.
