Scientists from Korea Institute of Industrial Technology have developed a deep-learning surrogate model to optimize aluminum frames for glass-glass bifacial photovoltaic panels, addressing issues with deflection and deformation due to load. The model identifies design factors such as ridges, grooves, and hollow sections, achieving high accuracy in predicting deflection and weight. The study aimed to minimize deflection while keeping the frame weight low, leading to improvements in frame design for large-scale bifacial PV modules.
