Research on integrating solar cells into vehicles to extend driving range by using lightweight and reliable VIPV modules. The study focused on carbon-fiber reinforced plastics, interconnection, and encapsulation strategies to improve module reliability against mechanical impacts and damp heat. Design modifications included carbon-fiber polyamide backsheets and new low-moisture transmission layers, increasing resilience while considering tradeoffs between weight and cost.
