LONGi launches modules with ‘standardised’ wafer sizes

Chinese solar manufacturer LONGi has launched the Hi-MO X6 Max series solar module in Jiaxing, China, with 'TaiRay Inside' and HPBC cell technologies. The standardised 72-cell silicon wafers are used to mitigate costs and supply chain risks. LONGi faced heavy losses in Q4 2023 and Q1 2024, leading to reports of potential layoffs. Concerns over quality in the solar industry due to cost-cutting measures have been raised.
