Longi, Shanghai Electric withdraw from controversial EU tender

Longi and Shanghai Electric withdrew bids from a public procurement tender for a 110 MW solar farm in Romania due to investigations into potential violations of EU rules on foreign subsidies. The contracts for the 454 MW solar park in Romania had an estimated value of around €375 million and were partly financed by the European Union. The investigations involved Longi's German subsidiary and Shanghai Electric units. The European Commission emphasized the importance of fair competition, transparency, and compliance with regulations in the European economy.
