Macquarie gets EU nod to buy into Norsk Hydro's renewables ops

The European Commission approved Macquarie Asset Management's acquisition of a 49.9% stake in Hydro Rein, the renewable energy business of Norsk Hydro ASA. Macquarie will buy the stake for USD 332 million as a joint venture with Norsk Hydro, operating renewable energy projects in Brazil, Denmark, and Sweden.
