Dutch contractor Mammoet has received its first Liebherr LR12500 crane. The LR12500 crane has a capacity of 2500 tonnes and a 200-metre hook height, assisting in building future energy and infrastructure developments. Offshore wind turbine components are increasing in size, with mammoth structures like nacelles of 1000 tonnes, tower sections of 2000 tonnes, and jackets and monopiles of 3000 tonnes. Mammoet emphasizes the need for high-capacity lifting equipment for construction projects to reduce integration and transport schedules. The LR12500 unit is designed to support these methodologies with features like a wide high-performance boom and dual engines for reliability.
