Midsummer, China's Kaisheng team up on cheaper thin-film solar

Swedish company Midsummer AB has partnered with Chinese company Kaisheng New Energy Technology to produce thin-film solar panels in Asia under an OEM agreement. The partnership aims to provide cheaper solar panels for the European market, with Kaisheng manufacturing panels based on Midsummer's certifications. Midsummer retains exclusive rights to market these panels in Europe. The collaboration is seen as a strategic move to address production constraints and tap into a price-sensitive segment of the European market.
