Moldova sets new approval process for power plants above 20 MW

Moldova's Ministry of Energy has approved a new regulation for the construction, reconstruction, or expansion of power plants above 20 MW. The regulation aims to streamline the process of obtaining necessary documents and improve transparency. It involves project evaluation by the Authorization Commission, government decisions on power plant installations, and exceptions for approved generators under tenders. The Energy Minister, Victor Parlicov, highlights the facilitation of renewable energy capacity authorization and aligning technologies with energy sector policies.
