Moldova to get USD 85m of US funds to add battery storage

The US government plans to invest USD 85 million in Moldova's energy sector for deploying large-scale battery energy storage. This investment is part of a USD 300 million support package by USAID to address energy issues post the war in Ukraine. The battery storage system aims to enhance energy security, improve grid reliability, and boost electricity trade with Romania, Ukraine, and the European market.
