National Grid ESO outlines Round 5 connection vision

National Grid Electricity System Operator has launched a plan to connect 4.5GW of floating offshore wind capacity to the grid in South Wales and South West England. The proposal includes HVDC and HVAC connections, as well as identified regions for substation development. The goal is to power four million homes with renewable energy and facilitate future green energy projects.
