Nepal launches tender for grid-connected solar projects

The electricity regulator in Nepal has initiated a tender for the design, supply, and construction of three-grid-connected PV systems. Germany’s KfW Development Bank will finance the projects, including 1.6 MW at the Middle Marshyangdi Hydroelectric Project, 2 MW in Surket, and 5.8 MW in Gandak. Nepal currently has 115 MW of cumulative installed solar capacity as per IRENA.
