New attempt to build solar cells based on copper silver bismuth iodide

An international research team fabricated a copper silver bismuth iodide (CABI) solar cell utilizing Cu6AgBiI10, a new compound offering high absorbance and low reflectivity. The research involved improving surface morphology of the film to enhance photovoltaic performance, achieving a power conversion efficiency of 0.041% with high absorbance and low reflectivity. The study emphasized the cost-effectiveness of bismuth and its potential in environmentally-friendly solar cell development.
