New leaders emerge in India’s 2022 solar market

Avaada Energy emerged as India’s leading utility-scale solar developer in 2022, followed by NTPC Renewable Energy and Adani Green Energy. India recorded its highest-ever yearly solar installation of 13 GW in 2022. The market saw shifts due to policies like basic customs duty and Approved List of Models and Manufacturers. Tata Power Solar dominated rooftop solar, while Sungrow led in string inverters and Fimer India in central inverters. Jinkosolar was the top module supplier, with Adani Solar as the domestic manufacturer. Scorpius Trackers was the top solar tracker supplier.
