New York puts US$5 million to long-duration energy storage projects

Governor Kathy Hochul of New York announced US$5 million funding for long-duration energy storage (LDES) projects. The funding will be accessible through New York State’s Renewable Optimization and Energy Storage Innovation Program. The aim is to support the development of scalable LDES solutions to meet clean energy and energy storage goals. The projects will focus on addressing challenges such as grid congestion, lithium-ion siting limitations, and promoting renewable integration.
