The DuraMAT consortium, established by the United States Department of Energy's Solar Energy Technology Office (SETO), has released its latest annual report with news about the availability of new PV forecasting tools and research on module degradation trends. They have focused on reliability forecasting, addressing ultraviolet-induced degradation, glass fracture mechanics, and degradation mechanisms in encapsulants. Results include a suite of software tools covering various mechanical models for materials and more. Special attention was given to cell cracking and UV degradation, leading to the development of the WhatsCracking app for predicting cell fracture.
