OMV Petrom to produce sustainable fuels, green hydrogen in Romania

The Petrobrazi refinery is undergoing a major transformation to become the first major producer of sustainable fuels in Southeast Europe. OMV Petrom aims to cut carbon emissions by 15% from 2019 levels with investments totaling EUR 2 billion by 2030. They plan to produce sustainable aviation fuels, hydrotreated vegetable oil, and green hydrogen. They are committed to decarbonizing transport in Romania with a total investment of EUR 11 billion by 2030. OMV Petrom also acquired a stake in Respiră Verde to supply raw material for biofuels.
