Optimal locations for solar power plants in Asia Pacific

Researchers from Japan’s Chiba University and Indonesia’s Institut Teknologi Bandung have conducted a study on solar irradiance variability in the Asia Pacific region, using data from geostationary satellites to identify optimal locations for solar power plants. The research revealed insights on spatial and temporal heterogeneity, umbrella effect index, and advised on the ideal regions for solar installations.
