An international research team has developed a new design for thin-film solar cells based on antimony trisulfide (Sb2S3). The team focused on investigating transport mechanisms, resistance, and defects in Sb2S3 cells to improve efficiency. By adopting a modeling framework, they analyzed dominant recombination mechanisms and the impact of factors like CdS layer doping and thickness. The optimized solar cell configuration showed significant improvements, with a 30% increase in conversion efficiency compared to conventional solar cells.
